Biography
Sandon Jacobs is a Senior Developer Advocate at Confluent based in North Carolina. Sandon has built microservices and event streaming applications in several industries - including television media, energy, mobile advertising, rail freight logistics, and healthcare. This experience spans multiple JVM languages - Java, Scala, Kotlin, Groovy - with smatterings of Python and JavaScript along the way.Sandon lives in Raleigh, NC, with his wife and 2 daughters. He is an enrolled citizen of the Waccamaw-Siouan Tribe of North Carolina, and can frequently be found at powwows around North America as a singer and speaker. Sandon is the Chairman of the Board of the Commissioners for the North Carolina American Indian Heritage Commission. Fun fact: an avid golfer since the age of 5, he was once mistaken for Tiger Woods at a teen golf event in the early 1990s.
